Basic Description
FANUC Robotics provides formal
training solutions to customers on
our standard robot product line and
systems designed and supported
by the company. FANUC Robotics
provides training assistance in
many formats including instructor
support, train-the-trainer programs,
customized product training,
web-based training programs and
distributor training programs.
In addition, FANUC Robotics
provides training in many
languages to service the varying
needs of our customers. FANUC
Robotics is an authorized provider
of the International Association for
Continuing Education and Training.
 

Capabilities
The main training facility for
FANUC Robotics is located at
the company's headquarters in
Rochester Hills, Michigan. The
company provides training for
more than 4,500 students per
year in this facility alone. A staff
of more than 20 professional
technical trainers, with the
assistance of instructional
designers, technical writers
and web-based training
designers, is available to support
our customers' training needs.
FANUC Robotics' state-of-the-art
training facility consists of:
9 classrooms
22,000 square foot
training laboratory

More than 45 robots to
ensure maximum hands-on
training opportunities and a
small studenHo-robot ratio
Training is also held at our
regional offices including:
Cincinnati, Toledo and Holland,
OM-to; Chicago, Illinois; Los
Angeles, California; Charlotte,
North Carolina; Mississauga,
Ontario and Aguascalientes,

COURSE OFFERINGS
Programming Courses

Courses are designed for an
operator, technician, engineer or
programmer who must set up and
record a program on a SYSTEM
R-J to R-30iA controlled robot with
a specific application software
package (see below). The courses
cover basic robot operations
intermixed with the tasks required
to set up the specific application;
test, run and refine the program;
and production setup. Programming
courses are also offered for R-F and
R-H software on a request basis.

Electrical Maintenance Courses
Courses are designed for maintenance
personnel responsible for installing
and maintaining the robot controller.
Although our Robot Operations course
is not a prerequisite for these courses,
the operational aspects covered in
these courses are minimal. A review
of the functions the student will be
required to perform in the workplace
is advised.

Mechanical Maintenance Courses
Courses are recommended for
mechanical technicians or other
persons responsible for mechanical
troubleshooting, maintenance and
repair of the robot. Some previous
mechanical knowledge of repair and
assembly of robots or machine tools
is required. These courses provide
detailed instruction and procedures
necessary for complete disassembly,
inspection and reassembly of the
FANUC mechanical unit.

SYSTEMS TRAINING
FANUC Robotics supports formal
systems training conducted at a
customer's site. Training may follow
an already developed course or may
be further tailored or customized to
meet specific customer needs.
 

SYSTEM MANUAL
DEVELOPMENT

All system-specific training will require
a site-specific systems manual and
course. No systems training will take
place without formal development.
 

WEB COURSES
FANUC Robotics offers web-based
courses by subscription through our
site.

To facilitate on-site training requests,
robots may be available for lease
from the Training Department.
